Self-Worth

24th Hour BugHello my friends!

I hope this post finds you well and you’re enjoying the fall season. This is my favorite time of year!

I was talking with a client tired of feeling the need to “prove” himself  in all areas of his life.  This is a challenge for so many people. Here are my thoughts and suggestions.

The need to “prove” ourselves stems from feelings of not being good enough. We are afraid. There’s a false belief we’re not going to make the “right” decisions, people don’t understand us, or we’re inadequate in some way and therefore trying to be something/someone we’re not.

In my experience everything comes down to self-worth. How we feel about ourselves guides our thoughts and subsequent actions.   Fear is experienced when we solely trust in our OWN strength.  Allowing the connection with our Source to guide us and remembering our true identity as Spirit engenders inner peace, not fear.

How do we move out of fear? One thought at a time.

1). Be honest with yourself and say , ” I am feeling fearful right now. I choose to remove the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence and remember who I am.”

If that’s as far as you go for the moment…great! Turn your fearful thoughts over to God, the Holy Spirit or your Higher Self (substitute your word) for correction.  You’ve moved from being caught up “in” the fear to having the “awareness” you are the observer with the power to “choose” a different thought. That’s all you have to do in the moment.

If you start feeling a little more peaceful and want to take another step:

2). In the awareness of being the “observer”, turn the rest of your day over to the Holy Spirit. “Holy Spirit, you be in charge of my thoughts. I choose to remember my true strength. Help me see through spiritual sight today.”

What is happening when you do this? You are activating the highest part of your mind (not brain, but the part of your mind that knows Who and where you really are).  Making a conscious choice to be inspired and choose peace removes conflict (uncertainty, unconscious guilt) from the mind. Then peaceful, loving energy will automatically flow into  actions you take in the world.

3). There’s no need to analyze or evaluate yourself or your progress. Allow the highest part of yourself to take over integrating and replacing old thoughts with new thoughts at just the right level and pace.

So we come full circle! When connected to Source, there is nothing to “prove”. Why? When remembering  Who we are – Spirit, whole and innocent, there is nothing to prove, but everything to “be”.

My sister says , “We have nothing to do and everything to be.”

Allow Spirit to be “reflected” THROUGH you. Let your light and Divine spark shine through every action. What is the purpose of your actions now? Your PURPOSE has changed, so you won’t feel you have to prove yourself, just BE yourself.

Blessings… be well everyone!

We Determine Our Own Level of Peacefulness

There seems to be so many problems in our own lives and in the world at large.  Where do we start?

Let’s not be too hard on ourselves.  I’d like to suggest starting each day with a short meditation.  It can be 2 – 5 minutes.  Think about joining with God, the Holy Spirit or your Higher Self. ( substitute your word if necessary)  Think about merging with the larger part of you.  Let your Mind be still.  “A tranquil mind is not a little gift.” – A Course in Miracles, M-20.4.

If you practice this form of joining in the morning it will help you come from a place of true power when confronting an issue or problem.  What does that mean?

It means you have put your “Right Mind” in charge of your thoughts.  Instead of responding from the ego’s reactionary state, you come from a centered, peaceful place of being – often receiving inspired guidance about how to handle a problem.  It lifts  the burden of deciding what to “do” all the time.  Rather, you can “allow” right action or inspiration to flow through you.

This approach does not make us passive in the world or stop us from “doing” things.  It simply means we’re passive to the ego and active to the Holy Spirit.

Love & blessings,

Jackie 🙂

Dr. Wayne Dyer

Hello friends.

It was a sad day when I learned of Wayne’s passing.

I can remember sitting in my living room in 1997 reading “You’ll See It When You Believe It.”  It had such an impact on me. I started paying closer attention to my thoughts. It was one of the books that started me down a lifelong spiritual path.   Looking back now, I could not have imagined the blessings that would unfold. My sister would joke with me, ” wow – you’re always reading!”.

Wayne was a kind person. He knew we were not our bodies, careers or possessions. He knew we were Divine Love.

My love and blessings go out to his beautiful family.

With love & gratitude to you Wayne…thank you for your contribution. Your words remain a source of inspiration.

Be well everyone.

Blessings,

Jackie

Be Gentle & Patient with Yourself

24th Hour BugHello friends,

If you’re at a standstill in your life be patient with yourself.  You may be integrating new knowledge or a new awareness.  You may be shifting to a higher vibration.   The Divine timing for your endeavor or project may not be right.

Changing direction or moving forward in life is a process.

It’s  difficult to make job, relationship or lifestyle changes without a little fear creeping up! Be gentle with yourself; allow time to get quiet and “tune in” to your intuition, Spirit Guides or Higher Self.  What lesson are you learning? Are you shedding an old part of yourself that no longer fits? Are you integrating personal changes due to increased Spiritual practice or commitment to love yourself more? What are you afraid of?

Ask questions and be open to the answers you receive.  No one can be YOU better than YOU! Let your light shine.  Hold space for others to do the same.  Smile a lot! Laugh a lot! Be light.

Love & blessings,

Jackie 🙂

Awakening to a Different Calling

24th Hour BugHello friends,

I want to share an insight that popped into my mind while walking around my neighborhood this morning.

Many of you may feel gently prompted in a new direction: career, relationship, philanthropic endeavor or hobby.  It will be important to trust and follow inner guidance in the months and years ahead.  There is a wonderful window of opportunity for lightworkers, spiritual seekers, and anyone looking to be of service, to discover, embrace  and channel their soul’s wishes and gifts.

If you encounter resistance from friends, family members or significant others, feel confident, have faith and keep moving forward on your path.  It is wonderful to have our loved ones supporting us and they often will.  However, there will be times when you explain your process or insights and others won’t get it.  It’s OK because how could they know what’s in your heart? The important thing is that YOU know.  You will be supported in endeavors and life changes that are Divinely guided.

So stay true to yourself and your life path! Guidance from Spirit is always available – remember to ask and be willing to hear the answers!

Love & blessings to you all!

Jackie

“A Course in Miracles” Insight

Jackie Lora Jones PortraitOften when we have “problems” in our lives, we hope or pray for “specific” solutions.  No doubt this is how we’ve been taught, listening to the ego all these years.  The Course teaches that the world and body being unreal (part of the illusion of separation from our creator) means that our problems and answers cannot be found there.  Rather, the one problem is our BELIEF in the world and body.  Since beliefs are in the mind, that is the only place they can be undone.   We can use our power to choose the Holy Spirit’s  thought system that reminds us the problems we “seem” to experience in the world are part of the dream of separation.

Seeking no answer in the world can be a relief.  Choosing peace instead of a complicated agenda helps undo error by addressing the REAL problem and correcting error in the mind by choosing the Right-Minded teacher – the Holy Spirit.  Then when taking action it will be inspired action having chosen the Right-Minded teacher.

Understanding the metaphysics of the Course’s thought system is necessary, but practice is what will produce the EXPERIENCE of peace.

Each day we can remember there are two teachers in the mind and only one of them is real.  Those who seek controversy (listening to the ego’s voice) will find it.  Those that seek peace (the Holy Spirit’s voice) will find it.  Sometimes we have to choose in every moment! We can keep practicing and be gentle with ourselves!

Be well everyone,

Jackie
